Market Bosworth School hosted their annual Secondary Schools Tournament on Wednesday 14th October 2026. 11 teams entered and over 50 children took part in this event.
At the end of 5 rounds of chess the very strong Leicestershire Grammar first team came out as clear winners with 17.5 points out of a possible 20. This reflected that their team contained two players who have already achieved success at a national level. Manor High put in an excellent performance to finish second on 15 points, and Leicester Grammar B just pipped Market Bosworth A team to the 3rd place medals.
Leicestershire Junior Chess is looking forward to arranging a similar event in the Spring term to be a qualifier for the British Senior Schools Team Challenge.
