Format

Schools can enter teams of 4 players with 2 optional reserves, and can enter multiple teams if they have enough players. The aim is for each event to have a minimum of 10 teams taking part, with a maximum capacity of 16 teams per event. Each team of 4 should play in strength order with the strongest player as judged by the team captain playing on board 1.

The number of rounds will be determined when team entries are finalised.

For each game in the match, a player who wins will score 1 gamepoint and a player who draws will score ½ gamepoint. The team that scores the most gamepoints will win the match. A team winning a match scores 2 matchpoints, and a team drawing a match scores 1 matchpoint. The final ranking of the tournament is determined by:
1. Matchpoints (descending)

2. Gamepoints (descending)

If 2 teams remain tied both teams will receive prizes.

Medals will be awarded to the members of the winning three teams.

Rate of play

All games will be played with chess clocks. The time control will be dependent on the number of rounds.
